Advice on salvage title

I'm thinking about buying a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe SE. It's going to be my first car and the price is really attractive. The catch? It has a salvage title! I know this can be a red flag, but I'm trying to figure out if it's a deal I should consider or just walk away from. I've heard everything from "it's fine if the repairs were done right" to "never touch a salvage title car." I'll do a pre-purchase inspection by a mechanic, but I'm wondering if there are specific things I should ask them to look at or if there are particular questions I should ask the seller about the history of the damage and repairs. Any insights or experiences with salvage title Hyundais, especially this model year, would be really helpful!

@jrry2001 a salvage title generally is a HUGE red flag, not gonna lie.
the price is probably attractive, but the headache potential is enormous. I, personally, am gonna skip it
but if you really eager to get it, tell your mechanic it's a salvage title immediately. Have them focus on:

frame/Unibody alignment, all electronics, wiring harnesses, and under the dash for corrosion.
also airbag system, suspension/steering components, panel gaps, paint match, overspray, and rust

A salvage title car isn't a bargain, it's a gamble...If you're serious, ask for detailed repair records and photos of pre-repair damage. Focus your mechanic's inspection on frame integrity, airbag deployment, and suspension alignment. Otherwise, seriously consider walking.

People are running from salvage titles like the plague and while I understand that, they're half right, at least in terms of the actual vehicle, not the insurance, resale value or stuff like that.

A salvage title can be a red flag only if the vehicle isn't repaired properly. I would start by getting as much information about the damage and everything that's been done to it. If everything is good, you might even go through the process and get a rebuilt title. Now, the most important thing, you'll need to work with someone who knows these cars well and can spot a flaw imediately.
